Employment Rate Continues Climb in June

4.8 million jobs added to the economy.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the national unemployment rate dropped to 11.1% last month as the reopening of the country continues. Though the pandemic is still in play, the addition of 4.8 million jobs indicates the economy is getting stronger.

June’s increase in employment numbers is the largest ever recorded, supporting economists’ optimism about the nation’s recovery after the coronavirus lockdowns of the spring expired. President Trump called it “spectacular news for American workers and American families and for our country as a whole.” He also said the numbers “shattered all expectations.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That the U.S. economy would continue to recover from the lockdowns.
  • For God’s provision for those who are still unemployed.
  • For President Trump to be guided by the Lord as he continues to face the pandemic and its effects.
  • For healing for those who are ill and comfort for those who have lost loved ones.
